Subaru Starlink App Greyed Out

Now you shouldn't have as many problems connecting your phone to your car. Usb is the only connection used by androidauto (and carplay) in the subaru system.

I tried the subaru starlink, and that “works” but the phone bluetooth works better imo.

Subaru starlink app greyed out. Is it just me, or is that the cr*ppiest program ever? Somewhere along the way i lost my phone book. Now, i have a 2015 subaru legacy with the nav system, but only a galaxy note 2 and the app for mirror link on my phone just crashes out.

I play with them and starlink shows a number of added apps, but android auto has only google map and a poor phone app. In reality, it took forever to download information and frequently timed out. You can utilize subaru starlink for subscribed vehicles, access vehicle service reminders, and stay up to date with subaru events with a swipe and a tap!

I found this while looking up this common problem on other cars. Subaru android auto greyed out trying to use androud auto but the buttons on the cars screen are grayed out and cant use favorites, dial pad, phonebook etc. First look up how to enable developer options on your phone.

My android auto has worked from day 1. That's a shame, because subaru's own clunky starlink app isn't quite ready for prime time. Subaru’s starlink offers a suite of onboard technology bringing multimedia content with smartphone connectivity, navigation, and extra safety to subaru vehicles.

The system is slow to respond and prone to freezing, locking drivers out of certain features. We've uninstalled and reinstalled the phone several times, changed the name & pin of the subaru bluetooth etc.
